Isle de Sol Yacht Club in Simpson Bay now has open pickleball at 8:00-11:00 on M-W-F. There are four courts; the cost is $10 per person.

Currently, the only place on the island to play open pickleball is BeSports in Maho. Their information was posted in a previous blog. There is open play every weekday morning from 8:00-10:30.  You can also reserve time on their website:  http://www.besportsclub.com/

Sabina, the Queen of SM Pickleball, will arrive on the island in late November. It is possible there may be additional information that can be posted in a few weeks.

Sadly, there is no longer pickleball at Port de Plaisance tennis club. This is sad because there were 30-40 people playing there on some days last year.

They have not kept up the facilities and court. A person at the front desk said they are no longer taking fees to use the court.

For the past few years, we have said we were not aware of any pickleball courts on the French side of the island.

No more!

The ‘American Tennis Academy’ in Hope Estate, which has been on the island for 20+ years, has added two temporary pickleball courts.

This will be much more convenient for the visitors who are staying in Orient Bay, Grand Case or Dawn Beach.

They are very busy with tennis members but you can reserve courts with their owner, Oliver Becaud, at WhatsApp (011) 590 690 382 217 or oliverprotennis@gmail.com.

There are four courts on the Dutch side of St Maarten.

Simpson Bay Resort – this is recommended for beginners play, 2.5-3.0. Their court is squeezed into a corner with the fences very close to the court. They play every weekday morning at 9:00. Jeanette is the unofficial coordinator @ TeamReach app – Group: SXM Pickleball – Password: SXMPB

Port de Plaisance Tennis Club – there is play M-W-F mornings at 9 am for all levels of players. $10 for the day. You can also set up private play – there are various rates for weekly or monthly pass. Sabina is the unofficial coordinator @ TeamReach app – Group: SXM Pickleball – Password: SXMPB

Be Sports in Maho – They have open play Thursday night at 6-8 pm for all levels play for $5. In addition, they offer court rentals. Yanina runs Be Sports and can set up set up private play for you.
