Oh oh … there may not be enough people left here to continue playing pickleball at Port de Plaisance Tennis Club. A number of our regular players have gone back to the US and Canada in advance of the current travel restrictions related to the coronavirus.

There was a small group of us at The Cliff who started the pickleball group. We will plan to play on the one court there. Please contact me if you are on the island and would like to play with us at The Cliff.

I want to thank Renate, Stephane and Samuel at the Tennis Club. They were very supportive of us all winter; we are very appreciative. 

Oh oh … il ne reste peut-être pas assez de gens ici pour continuer à jouer au pickleball au Port de Plaisance Tennis Club. Un certain nombre de nos joueurs réguliers sont retournés aux États-Unis et au Canada avant les restrictions de voyage actuelles.

Unbelievably, we are starting our fourth month of pickleball on St Maarten. It is quite the difference compared to last year when Marty and I did not play a single game during our stay last winter.

There were 10 players again this morning, filling two courts. And, another new player joined us: Marga from Sint Maarten – there have now been 42 different people joining us this winter – a number that pleases me very much.

And, most exciting, Sue returned from England with a new ‘bat’ (Sue is a lovely English lady so we accept her terminology for a pickleball paddle).

Incroyablement, nous commençons notre quatrième mois de pickleball à St Maarten. C’est tout à fait la différence par rapport à l’année dernière où nous n’avions joué aucun match lors de notre séjour l’hiver dernier.

Il y avait encore 10 joueurs ce matin, remplissant deux courts. Et un autre nouveau joueur nous a rejoint: Marga de Sint Maarten – il y a maintenant 42 personnes différentes qui nous ont rejoint cet hiver – un nombre qui me plaît beaucoup.

Et, le plus excitant, Sue est revenue d’Angleterre avec une nouvelle «batte» (Sue est une charmante dame anglaise, nous acceptons donc sa terminologie pour une pagaie de pickleball).

Another beautiful morning on the island of St Maarten – the two courts are taped, netted and ready for play.

Encore une belle matinée sur l’île de St Maarten – les deux courts sont enregistrés, filetés et prêts à jouer.

There were 10 players this morning including two new players: Becky from Melbourne and Madeline from Boston. Jane joined us again during her two week stay on the island.

Il y aura 10 joueurs ce matin dont deux nouveaux joueurs: Becky de Melbourne et Madeline de Boston. Jane nous a rejoints lors de son séjour de deux semaines sur l’île.

Unbelievably, it has now been three months of pickleball play at the Port de Plaisance Tennis Club in St Maarten. Another beautiful morning on the island.

We had a new player this morning, Jane from Chicago – person #39 to play pickleball with us over the past three months.

Incroyablement, cela fait maintenant trois mois de jeu de pickleball au Port de Plaisance Tennis Club à St Maarten. Encore une belle matinée sur l’île.

Nous avons eu un nouveau joueur ce matin, Jane de Chicago – la personne # 39 pour jouer au pickleball avec nous au cours des trois derniers mois.

An absolutely beautiful morning on the island of St Maarten, enjoyed at the Port de Plaisance Tennis Club playing pickleball.

We had 11 players today, including five new players: Kristen from Minneapolis, Carmen and Lynne from Ontario, Frank from Pookeepsie and Teddy. There have now been 38 players over the past 12 weeks who have joined us – a great success.

Une matinée absolument magnifique sur l’île de St Maarten, appréciée au Port de Plaisance Tennis Club jouer de pickleball.

Nous avions 11 joueurs aujourd’hui, dont cinq nouveaux joueurs: Kristen de Minneapolis, Carmen et Lynne de l’Ontario, Frank de Pookeepsie et Teddy. Au cours des 12 dernières semaines, 38 joueurs se sont joints à nous – un grand succès.

An absolutely beautiful morning in St Maarten, with just enough breeze to help keep us cool, but not enough to affect our play.
