Continuing the search where to play pickleball in St Maarten …

When I was starting my research of finding pickleball on the island, I saw messages on the internet from 2015 and 2016 of pickleball being played at the Rainbow Beach Club on the west end of the Dutch side of St Maarten.

I stopped by the Rainbow Beach Club this morning and spoke to their manager. They have a rooftop tennis court but it was damaged during Hurricane Irma (aka La Bitch) and has not been repaired as of yet.

This is another situation of ”maybe next year”.

Quand j’ai commencé mes recherches pour trouver du pickleball sur l’île, j’ai vu des messages sur Internet de 2015 et 2016 disant que le pickleball était joué au Rainbow Beach Club, à l’extrémité ouest du côté néerlandais de St Maarten.

Je me suis arrêté au Rainbow Beach Club ce matin et j’ai parlé à leur responsable. Ils ont un court de tennis sur le toit mais il a été endommagé lors de l’ouragan Irma (alias La Bitch) et n’a pas encore été réparé.

C’est une autre occasion de dire “peut-être l’année prochaine”.

The Cliff at Cupecoy has a tennis court but it is currently being used as the home base for the final repairs to the building from Hurricane Irma (aka La Bitch).

Maybe next year …

Searching where to play pickleball in St Maarten …

Porto Cupecoy, on the far west end of the Dutch side of St Maarten, has two very nice tennis courts (for residents and guests only) but no pickleball markings.

Porto Cupecoy, à l’extrémité ouest du côté hollandais de St Maarten, dispose de deux très beaux courts de tennis (réservés aux résidents et aux clients), mais ils ne comportent aucune marque de délimitation correspondent au pickleball.

The Port de Plaisance, next to Princess Casino, has seven beautiful tennis courts, but none set up for pickleball.

Maybe they will mark or tape one court if we can show enough interest for pickleball on the island.

Le Port de Plaisance, à côté du casino Princess, dispose de sept magnifiques courts de tennis, mais aucun n’a été aménagé pour le pickleball.

Peut-être qu’ils marqueront ou enregistreront un tribunal délimiteront ou réserveront in court si nous pouvons montrer suffisamment d’intérêt pour le pickleball sur l’île.

My wife, Marty and I live in St Maarten six months each year, enjoying the wonderful Caribbean weather.

We joined the pickleball craze this past summer, living in Minneapolis / St Paul, MN.

I can not find pickleball on the island. I am starting this blog for other pickleball lovers who would also like to play while visiting this lovely island.

Mon épouse Marty et moi vivons à Saint-Martin six mois par an, profitant du temps magnifique des Caraïbes.

Nous avons rejoint l’engouement pour le pickleball l’été dernier et avons vécu quand nous vivions à Minneapolis / St Paul, dans le Minnesota.

Je ne trouve pas de pickleball sur l’île. Je commence ce blog pour d’autres amateurs de pickleball qui aimeraient aussi jouer lors de leur visite sur cette charmante île.
