My wife, Marty and I live in St Maarten six months each year, enjoying the wonderful Caribbean weather.
We joined the pickleball craze this past summer, living in Minneapolis / St Paul, MN.
I can not find pickleball on the island. I am starting this blog for other pickleball lovers who would also like to play while visiting this lovely island.

Good morning! Has anything more happened with bringing Pickleball to the St. Marteen? I have some friends who are going there and they wondered if they should bring their paddles with them.
Thank you.

No, we have not been successful in finding a court with either markings or tape. It appears that there will be courts available next year as repair work continues from Hurricane Irma.

Thanks for the info on Pickleball. We are visiting St. Maarten February 2-16, 2020 and would love to find a place to play pickleball while there. Hope they can get something put together by then. Please keep posting any information for future vacations to the beautiful island of St. Maarten.

My wife and I return to St Maarten on November 17 and will stay through the winter. Once we return, I will be able to travel around the island to determine the progress over the summer. I will add new posts with updates upon our return.
Hopefully there will be a court available when you are visiting the island.

We found you as we were wondering the same. We will be on island for the holidays (Christmas & New Years) and were hoping to play while we were there. Thank you for this thread, hopefully something has transpired by then 🙂

Please connect with me when you arrive on the island. At the very least, my wife and I could plan to join you to play on the tennis courts at Port de Plaisance / Princess Casino.

I’m uncertain about the current status of any courts – we don’t return to the island until November 17. I will update our posts that week after I drive around the island to see the status of continued repairs from Hurricane Irma.

Here is the pickleball situation – there are three courts on the Dutch side of St Maarten:
* Simpson Bay Resort – this is beginners play, 2.5-3.0. Their court is squeezed into a corner with the fences very close to the court. They play there every weekday morning at 9:00. Jeanette is the unofficial coordinator.
* Port de Plaisance Tennis Club – this is intermediate play, 3.0-3.5. They have two pickleball courts with portable nets. They play there Monday – Wednesday – Friday mornings at 9:00. Sabina is the unofficial coordinator.
* The Cliff – this is not a public court but we can invite advanced players, 3.75+, as guests.
